Why Play Club: During a regular Middle School season 8 to 10 opponents are played an average of 2 sets (games) per match for an average of 16-20 games played in 2 months. In a Club Season each SDVA team plays a minimum 8 tournaments with a minimum of 8 sets (games) played during each one.
Teams who play deep into the bracket play will compete in another 6-9 sets.
This on the court experience is invaluable to players skills and confidence.
Note Some Important Differences and Options: Club Volleyball is game centered. Practices work on individual skills but are mainly designed to progress personal and team improvement through play. SDVA only plays Local Club Volleyball. There are other Clubs in Central Oregon available for both Local & Travel Teams. SDVA generally plays more tournaments than other clubs and is partially sponsored so our fees are lower. We provide a similar experience as the other clubs but there are advantages and disadvantages to both.

These are the larger ones in the area, SDVA and LVC are the
only ones currently in the south county area
Why in the Winter: Club is an off-season activity that allows players
to progress via practice and tournaments. Teams practice two times
a week and play all day tournaments on weekends. The school volleyball
season ends in October, camps and clinics are generally in the summer,
so for young players to stay sharp and develop skills club is essential.
Tournaments are rarely canceled due to weather so be
prepared to commit to the travel to Sisters, Redmond Bend or Prineville!
Tournaments: Typically, the 14 & Under and 16/18 teams will play in
eight or nine tournaments a season. Tournaments are in January, February
and early March. This is a LOCAL CLUB so tournaments are in Prineville, Bend, Redmond and Sisters. The tournament schedule isn’t available until
Mid-December and will change into January. These events start at 7:30am
and last all day. Transportation to and from tournaments will be the
player’s responsibility and car pools are suggested.
